February 29, 2012

Happy Leap Year everybody!!!  I hope you spent your extra day of 2012 doing something extra exciting!  I know I sure didn't haha :)  I slept super great last night and then I woke up at like 9:30ish and watched more Scrubs for about the whole part of my afternoon.  I had to listen to the show with the volume at 30 because I can't hear anything out of both of my ears!!  To give you a comparison, our normal volume level on the t.v. is about 10ish...not okay!  I have had trouble hearing everybody today and am making them repeat almost everything they're saying to me because I can't hear it haha :)  After Scrubs,  I read some Jane Eyre and then Mom and Dad came home!  We ate dinner and then watched American Idol again! :)  We're pretty much addicted :)  Here is a picture of the beginning of the show and also my beautiful Iowa blanket!! :)  Justin came halfway through the show to visit the fam and he's still here now!  Dad likes having another guy in the house for a change :)  Happy Leap Year again!!  Four more years until another one!

February 28, 2012

Meds meds meds meds meds!  Today I woke up with still not being able to hear in my right ear and a painful tingling sensation in my left ear...boo.  I took a shower and then went to school where I was seriously out of it.  I was coughing all through first hour and I couldn't hear anything out of both of my ears and I felt like passing out in the desk.  BUT, we had a presentation in psych so I wanted to stay until that class was over so that I could help my group.  When we got to psych (which is second period) he told us we probably won't present until tomorrow so I asked to go to the nurse.  This was seriously the conversation that went down in the nurse's office: "What do you need, Lisa?" "I'm sick" "Do you need to call home?" "Yes" "Okay, do it in the attendance office" hahaha It literally took me all of five minutes to get to the nurse's office and leave the school.  Because I went home, Mom moved my doctor's appointment up earlier so I watched six episodes of Scrubs on Netflix and then went to pick her up on her lunch break.  I have a double ear infection and a cough haha I could have told you that :)  But she prescribed me antibiotics that will hopefully treat my ear infections and cough all in one!  And she gave me cough medicine that she said would be good for school because it doesn't make you drowsy but it says on the bottle that it does...whateves.  She also said I shouldn't go to school tomorrow because it's good to wait 24 hours after being on antibiotics so...yeah.  Mom and Dad got a new mattress today!  And we watched American Idol!  Yay!

February 27, 2012

This morning I woke up and could not hear anything out of my right ear :( but I had to move forward because I had a Socratic today in English!  So I got out of bed and took a shower and then all of a sudden I felt really nauseous and something was stabbing me in my stomach and I couldn't hear and it was just horrible...but I went to school anyway!  School actually made me feel better!  I normally get really nervous for Socratics because I hate talking in front of people but today I was so distracted by my illness that I couldn't really care enough to get nervous so yay!  Mom scheduled a doctor's appointment for tomorrow so that I can get rid of my ear infection now.
On a happier note, another book came in the mail for me today!  It is The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!  I did not realize it was such a gigantor book!  Apparently it's five books in one...?  Was not expecting that haha :) I liked this picture because this is currently the stack of books/DVDs on my desk haha.  The Count of Monte Cristo and The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are both recommendations from Mrs. Van so I hope they'll be great!  We're going to start Grapes of Wrath this week so I'm excited for that.

February 26, 2012

You can disregard the saying on the cup haha :)  It says, "It's snow time"  Not true.  All the snow pretty much melted today but that doesn't mean I couldn't have some hot chocolate!!  Mom wanted me to either drink hot chocolate or suck on cough drops all day long but I only drank one cup of cocoa and sucked on one cough drop...But the cocoa was amazing!!!  I just don't like the taste of cough drops because it's like they try to disguise the mediciney flavor.  It doesn't work.  Bleh.  All I did today was English homework and...oh that's it.  I really don't know how I spent my day because that did not take me that long haha...?  The time sure went fast though when I was doing absolutely nothing!  I just took a nappy at 7:30ish so I'm not really ready to go to bed but I'm going to have to force myself since I have school tomorrow.  I had two four day weekends in a row.  It was kind of nice :)

February 25, 2012

I've been trying to avoid taking pictures of me in my sickly state and this is why hahaha I look sooo happy about life :)  So last weekend, Sarah and I planned the tie dying party for our swim shirts so I notified everyone at my school who got a shirt about it on Wednesday....and then Thursday I died haha :)  So there were about seven girls over at my house while I was coughing up a lung :) but my temperature was normal this morning so I don't think I'm contagious any more!!  Yay!  Hopefully there are no fatalities as a result of this tie dying partay!  If so, I'm sorry.
Here are some tie dying action pictures!! :

As you can see, Sarah decided to be different and have a uni-corn type of tie dying!!  She did a bulls-eye thing which you will see farther on down in the posty.  It took her about an hour to finally get the whole thing done while the rest of ours took about 10-15 minutes haha :)  She had to be different! :)

And here's how all the normal people dyed their shirts!  We followed instructions Mom had from a long time ago when she tie dyed back in the day.  We pretty much spiraled our shirts with a clothespin and then wrapped a piece of cloth really tight around the outside so that it wouldn't unroll.  The dye was in boiling hot water and we dipped our shirts half way, rinsed with cold water, then flipped it upside down and dipped the other half and then rinsed with warm water and ta-daa!!  Here are the results! :

What a bunch of lovely ladies all crammed into our laundry room! :)  It was nice to be around people since I have been in solitude for the past two days :)  Hopefully I didn't infect anybody though!

February 24, 2012

Soooooo, today was NOT a snow day :( Dern.  But I stayed home again regardless because of my pesky illness :(  On the online grade thing our school has, there is an attendance record that tells you why someone missed school and normally if you're sick it just sick or whatever but today my thing said "influenza like illness" so I may or may not have the flu...  I was feeling almost fine today except for feeling weak and having a headache, and then Mom took my temperature again at 4 and it was 101.7...so, yeah...I didn't get any better haha  Here is a nice picture of all the snow we received last night! :

Wow!  The tree looks really pretty though!!  Mom shoveled the whole driveway and patio because she's a champ! :)  Through the course of my day, two packages came to our house!  The first one was the book The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.  This was one of my Christmas presents but I asked for it in paperback and it didn't exist yet so I had to wait until it came out in paperback.  Now I can start the series!  Once I'm done reading my AP books...  The second package that arrived were some doggy steps!!  Since Mom and Dad got new furniture, they didn't want Jersey scratching it because she can't jump on the bed any more since she's old and fat, so Mom bought her steps! hahaha :)  On the box it said "For little or old or spoiled pets" and Jersey fits all three of those!!!  Mom and Dad both tried to teach her how to use them and I'm pretty sure she's afraid of them but oh well!  Maybe she'll get used to them eventually!!

February 23, 2012

Today I stayed home from school :(  I was sick and I still am.  Boo :(  I slept for about 23 hours and then watched American Idol for the other hour haha :)  And all through the day, Jersey was by my side because she loves me :)  I might be staying home from school tomorrow also because when Mom took my temperature at 5, it was 102....sooo, yeah.  But by the way the snow is coming down, something else might happen!  I'm not going to talk about it because I might jinx it! :)  I used this picture for two reasons: 1. You can see the downpour of snow we had!  This seriously accumulated in about thirty minutes!! The flakes were HUGE! 2. You can see that the goose is now naked :)
In between sleeping and sleeping, Mom had asked me to start dinner so I did that today!  I pretty much made dinner even though it only involved taking the chicken kiev out of the packages and putting it on a pan and putting that in the oven...still...that was the main course! :)  Fingers crossed for tomorrow! :)

February 22, 2012

It's official, my first POD of Jersey :) Haha :)  I'm surprised I made it this long without having her as my main picture :)  So before I leave for school, I always put my coat on the couch to grab when I leave and today Jersey felt like the best place to sit on the couch would be on my coat :)  She's so cute :)  I think this means she didn't want me to leave for school and she really does love me :)
Nothing exciting happened today except for the fact that I'm still getting sick :(  I started feeling horrible during eighth hour :(  After school I had an NHS meeting.  It was the shortest NHS meeting in the history of NHS meetings! I really don't know what caused it to go so fast!!
We spent the day in econ Google searching Mr. Wooderson and then he somehow related that back to whatever the heck we were learning about...?
I had tumbling tonight and I'm so close to getting my full!!!! GAHHH!!!  I'm almost almost almost there!  My coach was literally jumping for joy because I was so close!!  It's been two years...I'm ready for gosh sakes!!!
After I came home from tumbling, I watched American Idol for two hours instead of doing my homework....oops :)  Oh well , I guess I'll do it now :)

February 21, 2012

I got my ballet outfit today!!!!!  It's super cute and I love it!!!  Sorry my hair is a mess, I just got back from dance when I took this picture!  The name of my dance/song/whatever is Palladilo I think...not sure haha.  My teacher said that this costume was the company's version of the black swan.  It's not as awesome as her costume in the movie, but I love it anyway!  I also got my jazz top today but that was kind of boring and I couldn't bring it home.  Since this costume is a tutu, we have to hang it upside down until the recital so this is the current state of my dressy :) :

It's hanging upside down in Mom and Dad's old room on a hook because we couldn't find a different place to hang it haha :)  Also, you can see part of Mom and Dad's new bed that I forgot to mention in the bloggies that they received... :)
So like I said yesterday, I tried giving blood again today but sadly it didn't happen.  My pulse was 120 then 109...ugh.  And now I think I'm getting sick because something odd is happening inside my chest...boo.  I'm going to mail in my scholarship tomorrow!! The one that took me FOREVER and a half to write the essay!  I'm glad to get the thing out of my sight finally!  And that's about all today!  Happy Tuesday!

February 20, 2012

Happy President's Day!!!!  I celebrated by doing nothing except reading and finishing homework!  Yay!  I woke up at 8:30ish this morning strictly because Jersey was snoring super loud!!!!  I don't know what was wrong with her, but it woke me up!  Then, like I said, I read some Jane Eyre and did the rest of my econ homework as well as some psych reading.  It was a pretty boring day.
After years of wanting to make a cook book, Mom finally decided to start typing up all her top secret recipes!  She made such progress today!!  Here she is, typing up the recipe to corned beef while wearing a blanky because our basement is the coldest thing ever!
Back to school tomorrow and then I'm going to try to give blood...again.  Four day week!!  Woohoo!  Hopefully more exciting things will start happening in my life haha :)

February 19, 2012

Today I woke up "early" to go to the blood drive.  Mom and I drove all the way out there and then there wasn't one...so that was a waste of my time.  They must have cancelled or something but they weren't there!  After that, we came back home for about .2 seconds and then headed over to Grandma's house to do things which included moving furniture and vacuuming.  During the vacuuming, Dad found this cute little bebe vacuum that I thought was adorable :)  It was super loud though.  The most we had at one time was four or five vacuums going!!!  The basement was really disgusting and cobwebby so it was a much needed vacuum!!!!  While downstairs, I found this really nice article about my Grandpa :

Dad is also mentioned in the article because he saved somebody's life...no big deal haha :)  Also during this visit, my auntie-poo brought over a sheet so that I could register to vote!!!  So now I am registered...or at least, I filled out the paper to be registered.  Eventually we went home and Mom and Dad took Jersey on a walk!  She was super stoked!  While they went on the walk, I did this! :

I've been wanting to do it for awhile so I decided to try it out today!  I didn't really know what I was doing so it's not as good as I wanted but I think next time I try, it will be better!  This person has a very simplified explanation of how to do it!  I also did more homework today, specifically econ...boo.  And that's pretty much all that happened today....yup. :)

February 18, 2012

Mom made cookies today!!!  They're my favorite kind too!! Yay!  I thought it was a nice touch to the picture to see the long row of cookies followed  by a plate of apples hahaha :)  She also froze some cookie dough balls because we love salmonella!!!  So today I finished The Catcher in the Rye which was good but I probably wouldn't read it again.  Also, after three months of deliberating over what to write in my scholarship essay, I finally wrote it and it took me about five minutes....ugh, I wish that wave of inspiration hit me back in December so I could have written it then!!!  So today was productive!  Which is good!  Yay!
Tomorrow I'm going to try to give blood again so wish me luck!!!  Here's an adorable picture to make the perfect end to your Saturday!! :

February 17, 2012

Three cheers for no school!!!  Yay! Yay! Yay!  I slept in today to get some beauty sleep :) so I didn't make Dad breakfast like he wanted me to haha :)  After I woke up, I read a couple chapters in The Catcher in the Rye and tried and failed miserably to write my scholarship essay :(  I've been working on it all day and I'm still trying to figure out a good introduction paragraph :( I know what I want to say but I can't move on until the intro's all figured out grrrr.  Taking a break from doing the aforementioned, I decided to eat Spaghetti Os for lunch! :)  Sorry to those who find Spaghetti Os disgusting :)  I didn't realize until after I microwaved them that I had some sort of special alphabet Spaghetti Os!!!!!!  It was so exciting!!!  I didn't even now they made those!  The first one I saw was an X so I thought they were some kind of Valentine Spaghetti Os with Xs and Os but that was not the case and I realized that after I saw the Bs and such so...yeah....I think I was a little too overly excited about this hahaha :)  I had tumbling tonight and that was pretty much all the exercise I had today haha :)  Now I'm home and am still trying to figure out how to start my essay...boo.

February 16, 2012

First off, I don't know why I look so weird in this picture, but let's just ignore that :)  Today is my first POD with Arzu!!!  Yay!  So today was a very long day.  It was a half day at school so I woke up feeling very wide awake since I didn't have a full day of school ahead of me!  We did absolutely nothing today which was amazing!  We finished the Scarlet Pimpernel in English and then we talked about a project in psych which only took a couple of minutes.  After we were done talking, we asked if we could Google search babies so Mr. Stock did and then eventually he started searching dogs and I decided to take a picture :) :

After that, I randomly had to go to an algebra classroom because they had a sub and apparently needed my help if kids had questions on their worksheet.  Keep in mind that I took that class in eighth grade so I pretty much just pretended to know what I was talking about when I helped the kids....After German, I had gym which we spent the whole class sitting and talking since we didn't have to dress.  I learned that whales can't breath under water and that they actually breath air!!  I don't know where I've been all my life to not know this, but I'm glad I finally found out!  This means we can keep them in our pockets if we ever have the super power to shrink them! :)  After that, we did random stuff in econ and then we did a Kakuro puzzle in calc that I finished when I came home!  When I came home, I found Jersey just laying on the couch like a lump so I decided to take another picture! :

AWWWWWWWW!!!!!  Just look at those cheeks!!!!  I ate lunch at home then headed for conferences!  I helped out at conferences for NHS hours and also cause it's kind of fun even though it's kind of tiring being in school all day!  I helped Mrs. Van and Arzu helped Mr. Tebo so we were right next door to each other!!!  We just had to cross off names of the parents that come so that they know who showed up.  That was from 2-5, then there was a break for dinner and Arzu and I went to Subway where we talked (mostly Arzu :) ) the whole time!  A lot of it was ranting too haha :)  We also saw two teachers from our school which was kind of awkward....On our way out of the parking lot we saw this random obstacle by the gas station and we had no idea what was going on hahaha:

What is it?!?! Nobody knows.  Then we headed back to school for the last half of conferences which were from 6-9.  My face hurt from smiling by the end of the day and I had a headache from the fluorescent lights I think haha, I'm a loser :)  We spent the time just talking with the teachers and doing crossword puzzles with words that don't exist and aren't in the actual puzzle so it wasn't that bad!  It was my last conferences at high school :(!!!!

February 15, 2012

Today was a very uneventful day haha :)  I got a pass to get out of German early so that I could pick up the two transcripts that I requested for two scholarships that I'm doing!  I crossed out the name and address so that there are no creepers out there!!!  After I came home, I realized that for one of the scholarships, I'm going to need my final transcripts so I actually don't need one of these but maybe it'll come in handy for some other scholarship??  Also, my ACT scores came today that I requested for one of the scholarships so I got two things crossed off my "need" list in one day!  Hoorah!  And I also applied for a Best Buy scholarship today because I found out today was the last day to do it!!  Yay for doing scholary-shipy things!!  The most exciting thing that happened today was that I almost killed Collin in strength because I was being a horrible spotter hahaha and because I thought he said "please don't help me" when in reality he actually said, "please help me" hahah oops :)  It's all good though :)  I had tumbling tonight and it kind of sucked with my knee since I kept banging my legs together :(  Then I came home and the 'rents and I watched two hours of American Idol :)  Since tomorrow's a half day, I have no homework tonight!!!!  Wooo!!!

February 14, 2012

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! My heart definitely had a workout today!  But not in an Oh-my-gosh-I'm-so-in-love, swoony way, in a giving-blood-slash-holy-crap-this-is-the-scariest-slash-most-stressful-moment-of-my-life way.  So, as I said, I tried to give blood today.  Note that, TRIED.  If I donated all the times I've tried to donate, I would have saved hundreds of lives already...ugh.  I only need one more donation before I can get my red cord!  But I'll keep donating after my 6 donations because it's the easiest thing to do and since half the population is afraid of needles and refuses to give, I might as well help out!  There was a blood drive at our library today so Dad and I headed over there, leaving at 4:40ish.  We left the library at 6:40.....it was such a long wait!  I read four chapters in The Catcher in the Rye in the duration I was there.  My pulse was originally 122 and the lady was freaking out about how that was the highest pulse she's ever seen before and then I was awkwardly like, "yeah, it's been in the 150s before...." haha what an inexperienced phlebotomist, seriously.  At my second check, it was 108!!! 108!!!! That's so low for my first time!!!!  JUST LET ME DONATE!!!! Anyway....Dad was able to give so at least we are one for two and I kind of went there knowing it wasn't going to happen so I wasn't terribly upset.  Then we headed home.  I somehow managed to slam my knee when closing the car door and now this is what my knee looks like:

It doesn't look like much, but it HURTS! Mom and Dad don't care, naturally.  So, moving on in my story...
Dad and I came home and Mom was out grocery shopping with Grandma so she wasn't home.  There were truffles on the counter (seen above) that Mom had labeled that we were allowed to eat!  Dad and I were talking about something along the lines of truffles when a car pulled in our driveway and I was all "oh, Mom's home" and Dad was all "really?" and then I noticed it was a smaller car and then I saw some light reflect off the side of the car so that I could vaguely make out the markings of a police car...UMMMMMM!?!?!?!! Obviously my first thought was all, "policemen only come to your house to tell you someone died...."  Eventually he came to the door and Dad went outside to talk to him and I swear this guy could have not made the situation any worse!!!  In the most monotonous, sincere voice he was all, "Are you Mr. Sullivan?...There was an accident on route blah blah blah" at which point, Dad fully stepped outside and the door closed and I could only hear parts of the conversation.  He started listing off our license plate number and I knew Dad didn't know it so I opened the door to try to help by saying what our license plate started with.  Then, finally, after about two minutes of this police guy being at our door, he was all, "it was a minor accident, your wife bumped into somebody, there's not going to be an arrest..."  The last part makes me laugh cause I'm trying to imagine my mom arrested hahaha, anyway, good news bears, NOBODY DIED!!!  Better news bears, Mom wasn't in an accident at all hahaha.  Apparently the douchey driver of the car that was hit just put the blame on the first car he found and copied down the license plate number!  So, yay!  But seriously, that was the scariest moment of my life.  I was literally shaking!  And Dad says he doesn't even remember the police officer saying half the things he said because he thought Mom was dead too.  Mom had to call the police guy and they got everything cleared out and she was all, "I was so flustered!!!"  and I was all, "IMAGINE THINKING YOU WERE DEAD!!!!"  So, yeah, appreciate what you have!!!!  Geez.
Oh yeah, then we ate the truffles.

February 13, 2012

Today I came home and Dad told me he was demolishing our bathroom, so here is that in action!  He was actually posing for this picture because he was trying to look strong :)  So, we started a movie in lit today called the Scarlett Pimpernel and I swear it has the weirdest actor I have ever seen in my life as the main character...it's just so...strange...This week is a short week because we have conferences on Thursday and Friday and then there's no school Monday so I can't wait!!  But of course that means that every teacher decided to have some kind of huge thing due before we get to have a four and a half day weekend :(  I spent my whole afternoon alternating between filling out psych study guides and writing an English paper...ugh, I think I'm going crazy.  Mom made pork lion (yes) for dinner and it was supppper delicious!!!  While we were eating, I opened a card that my grandma sent me for Valentine's day.  The front says "For a Sweet Girl" with three little gymnast girls that look like they're about four.  I would  now like to read you what is on the inside:
Hi Lisa,
I got mixed up with my Valentines.  I sent your
Valentine to Brenna.  This Valentine was for Brenna.  So --
I hope you like this one.
Hahahaha I couldn't stop laughing when I read it :)  I don't even know how this happens but it's the thought that counts!  Haha :)  So that's what happened today in a nutshell!  I'm kind of burnt out from writing my essay and don't feel like typing much, sorry! :)

February 12, 2012

Happy Abraham Lincoln's Birthday to all of you out there!  As you can see from my frizzy, braided hair, I spent my day at a tumbling meet!  My first event was at four but we left the house at 12:45ish so that we could have time to eat on the way down there.  They ended up being super ahead of schedule and I was called and done with tramp by the time four o'clock even happened!  I was only competing against two other people and since the tramp was the bounciest thing in my life, I was the only one that finished my pass so I got first! Yay!  Mom got a cool action shot of my layout but I'm too lazy to steal it from her camera right now :)  Here is a video of me performing (it's far away because Dad's inept with cameras and didn't know how to zoom :) ) :

My next even was at 6 and awards were apparently an hour behind so instead we just sat in the gym and watched as they slowly took down everything around us except the chairs we were sitting in.  I was eventually called for double mini and I ended up getting first on that too!!!  Yay!  And I actually stuck one of my passes which is never a good thing for practice because I can't stick for my life and whenever I try to get out of punishments for not sticking, Sue's always like, "You can stick at meets" hahaha It's not my fault, it just happens :) I would like to show you videos of that but it's not letting me upload them so...SORRY!  Maybe I'll add them on to tomorrow's blog.
After I got my award, we left to come home because Mom really wanted to see the Grammys!  So now she's watching that and I'm working on my A Tale of Two Cities essay...fun.  I had three essays I wanted to get out of my life this weekend and so far I have completed...zero.
Happy 203 Birthday to the best president ever!!!!!

February 11, 2012

Today was the boys' conference meet!  It felt super small compared to their invite and it went way faster than the invite too.  Meghan was a loser face and didn't show up so today it was me, Sarah, and Alli.  The other day, Sarah texted me saying she got into the pt program at Marquette and after congratulating her I asked what pt meant haha.  Apparently it's physical therapy haha :)  Anyway, she had a Marquette water bottle today so I told her to pose with it so she could be my POD for her excellentness of getting into the pt program!!!  How cute :)  On my camera, this picture looked like she was standing in Heaven because everything was white and you couldn't see the individual tiles on the floor and it looked really cool!  Speaking of water bottles, today, Sarah found Shanahan's water bottle that matched the rest of the boys' and was all, "Shanahan has his own water bottle!" (she was super excited about it), after which, Cari was like, "He's standing right there." When we turned around we saw Shanahan making the most creeped out face that ever existed haha.  Apparently he later told Sarah to stop fondling his water bottle :)  The boys did not get first, sadly, but Cary Grove (I think) did.  Here is a picture of the trophy they won!  Alli pointed out to me that it looked like the swimmer was pooping haha (yes, we are immature) :

Excuse me, Mr. Trophy Guy, what kind of start is that exactly?  At one point during the meet, when someone finished, they managed to splash in a way that all the water went directly up between my legs so that it looked like I peed myself :(  It was a very awkward rest of the meet.  Then, when we were leaving, some kid from the winning team was like, "I play football, ladies" in which Sarah later told me we should have been like "that's cool, so does my boyfriend!" hahaha :)  After the meet, I had to go over to Sarah's house because even though I reminded her on Thursday and last night and this morning to bring eight dollars for her swim shirt and her captain shirt, she STILL forgot!!!! Hahaha so I followed her home to her house on Lisa St. :) :

Fifty bazillion dollars to those who remember when this street sign was my POD for my first year!  I took another picture today even though I already have a picture of it :) Maybe I should take a picture every time I go to her house and make an awesome collage later in life...?  That would be pretty awesome :)  The only problem is that I never go to her house haha :)  I'll never get over the fact that she didn't tell me she lived on Lisa St. until we already knew each other for a year!!!  That would be the first thing I would tell someone if my street name matched their name!  Even though I highly doubt I'll ever meet anybody with my street name...  Anyway, I got the captain shirt and the shirt money so the captain shirt will be in Amelia's hands soon!!!  When I came home, Dad had this article waiting for me on the table:

For years I have been saying my name is very old and the 'rents always denied it, their way of getting around it being pointing out 40 year old women and saying "See, she has your name!" not realizing that they were making my case stronger!  Anyway, I think they finally accepted it today because the newspaper said so haha :)  And if you actually read the list, you'll  notice my middle name is on it too...
The rest of the day I spent doing homework which was actually pretty productive!!  Then I played Just Dance which wasn't nearly as fun without Kelley :(  I miss my sissy!  Sorry today was such a long post haha :)

February 10, 2012

Happy Friday!!!  Was it just me or did this week take forever?!?!  So the boys' swim team shaves their head at the end of the season in weird styles and this is what Ben looked like today!!!  It was very creepy/funny.  Naturally, I asked to take a picture.  I think this picture captures my awkwardness very well because I was feeling very uncomfortable through the duration of this picture taking haha and Cari happened to take the picture right when I decided to roll my eyes :)
Here's a little story about my shirt:  I bought it YEARS ago because Kelley told me it was super cute but I always felt uncomfortable when I wore it so I never did...until today!  I decided to get over my fear because I also think it's cute but there's an awkward elastic at the bottom which, as I told Katie, makes a weird muffin skirt if it slides up my body (which happens anytime I move).  As it turned out, a lot of people told me they liked it so I think I'll wear it more often!!  This isn't a really good picture of it but I promise it's cute :)
Today in econ was perhaps my favorite so far.  We were legit going insane from a week of school...I can't even imagine what May's going to be like if we're already like this in February haha :)  I can't even explain what was going on.  None of us were paying attention and there were so many conversations that may or may not have had to deal with the subject we were learning which was about insurance.  At one point the conversation turned to naked doctors...(it was Mr. Wooderson's fault).  I also told my nasty feeding-a-dolphine-a-nasty-dead-fish story.  Yeah...then we randomly had a sub in calc and a surprise group assessment that none of us knew about haha.  In psych we got to stare at a baby for a while which made my whole day 10x better, so it was a pretty fine day overall :)  Oh yes, and it also snowed!  Because the roads only decide to be icy when it's a Friday and there's no hope for a snow day the next day...

Today, apparently, called for climbing on counter tops in lit :)  We had a sub today which was sad because I love Mrs. Van and she won't be here tomorrow either :(  The sub was really nice and all but for some unknown reason, she had two bags PACKED with those pop top things from pop cans....?  We were trying to figure out what the purpose of them were and these are the reasons we came up with:
1. She was collecting them to turn in later for money
2. She was some sort of pop addict
3. She was superstitious and believed they were good luck
We had a problem with the first option because we couldn't figure out why she would bother bringing them to school but number 2 seemed reasonable since she also had a cup of pop on her desk while we were talking about it!  Anyway, we are currently participating in a fundraiser war thing with other first period classes!!  It's to raise money for leukemia by bringing in pennies for your box and bringing in silver coins for other peoples' boxes as sabotage!  The winning class gets a free Olive Garden meal as if saving children's lives wasn't incentive enough :)  We decided during class today to hide our box in plain sight in a place where nobody would bother to look but yet we couldn't get in trouble for "hiding" it because it's clearly out in the open.  The winning location was the top of the cabinets haha :)  So Humberto volunteered to put it there.  When the sub noticed she was all, "what are you doing" and he was all, "just going down there" and then she was all, "oh, okay". hahaha Then at some point, Tyler decided to help point out a good place for the box to nuzzle into its home.  In this picture you can see the nice painting Collin made freshman year for a To Kill A Mockingbird project, and you can see Meghan looking beautiful :)!  My favorite hiding box idea was Katie's which was to put tissues sticking out of the coin slot hole so people would think it was a tissue box hahaha :)
On a totally unrelated note, I came home to this today! :

Yay!  1000 pageviews!!!  I was waiting for it to hit 1000 but I didn't think I would actually get to see it when it happened hahaha :)  Thank you to everybody who's interested in my not-so-interesting life haha <3

This slightly blurry picture is a product of my stalking abilities :)  Today in econ, they watched Atlas Shrugged once again and Katie and I went into the hallway to do more productive things!  All the while, Mr. Stock was having a class and we were quietly making fun of his teaching.  Katie told me to take a picture of him so this is what happened!  The best quote of the day came from him when he was talking about an assignment and in the most condescending, sarcastic, God-I-hate-this-class tone, he was like "Now on this assignment, I want a couple lines at the bottom explaining blah blah blah.  And also, there's an extra credit opportunity if you make the lines rhyme!"  Katie and I could not control ourselves.  We were then planning on making our essays we have to write about the ice addiction thing rhyme throughout the whole thing and just turn it in hahahaha.  I love us :)
I was very productive after school today!  I finished my psych essay and found a third article for my econ essay (there are currently five essays that are apparent to me in my life at the moment...boo) all before tumbling!!!  I'm amazing :)  Then I came home and slowly started sorting out things I need for scholarships.  Then I did half my psych notes in which this ADORABLE picture appeared:

OHMYGOODNESS!!!! I love babies! :)  My favorite are the last two on the first row :)  Adorbs!  On an unrelated note, I did my spotter back, barani off pass at least 1000 times today at tumbling!  Yay for completing passes!!!  I also did about 5000 pushups because it was 5 for every time we didn't stick or do our pass....yeaaahhhhh..... :)

Do you remember that mysterious picture that I posted last Tuesday that I said I would talk about today?  Well, if you don't, here it is again:

So we were learning about drugs in psych and he assigned us a stimulation that would help us better understand what it is like to be addicted to something.  The drug we were addicted to was ice.  Everything we drank for a week needed to have ice in it no matter what it was.  If there was no ice, we couldn't drink it.  This was supposed to represent the biological need for a drink since we can't live without it which makes us dependent on the drug and makes us crave to get ice so we could get a drink.  We weren't allowed to tell anybody and nobody was allowed to see the ice because it's supposed to be illegal so we needed to bring mugs or water bottles to school.  We also needed to have a psychology symbol on our wrist or inner arm to symbolize the mark of a user and nobody was allowed to see that either.  Mine's on my wrist as you can see in the POD!  The  project was pretty much a pain and really annoying since I hate ice to begin with and I would never be able to convince people I liked it if they saw me putting it in my cup and asked me about it...  Anyway, so that's what the mysterious picture and this picture is about!  That's the mug I've been bringing to school since Friday.
Something awesome/creepy happened to my mug today.  I was drinking out of it at lunch and all of a sudden I saw a scratch on it and got sad but then I looked closer and saw where the scratch was...:

It's slices directly through this girl's throat and stops after that hahaha.  We all found it really creepy and are hoping it's not predicting the future or anything haha.  Katie said she would feel bad for laughing if it actually came true :)  Let's all hope Claudia does not get decapitated any time soon!
On a totally different note, the best quote of my day/life came from Katie: (side note: this happens after a guy in our class pretty much says we're all horrible people but apparently that was not what he was trying to say...I don't know, I got confused with the conversation haha)  Katie: "I think I'm nice." (short pause when I agree). Katie (in the most angry voice possible): "Who the eff does he know that's nicer than me." (short pause where we stare at each other) *burst out laughing*.  I love her :)  I don't think it's as funny if you read it but the moment was awesome :)  That's all for today!

February 6, 2012

I finished reading A Tale of Two Cities today but unfortunately I decided to keep my book at school so you'll have to deal with my crappy photoshopping :)  I greatly enjoyed the book because it was such a lovely story but my biggest complaint with it would have to be that I would read and then zone out and forget everything that happened.  The next day, we would talk about what happened in class and I would feel like I didn't read at all because half the stuff they brought up I didn't remember!  Then, when I did actually pay attention, I would be confused as if I actually understood what happened or not haha...it's actually not as bad as I'm making it out to be :)  I decided to take this picture in Mom and Dad's room for a change of scenery :)
Today I was given a lot of homework which was actually just for psych but I decided to get other things done as well.  In lit, we have a word of the week and at the end of each week, somebody presents the word to the class in a snazzy way so that we all remember and I chose to do the word this week!  The word is "putrid" and I spent my night working on the power point which is pretty great in my opinion! :)
I woke up late today and I was overcome with the feeling of not going to school but I pushed through and went haha.  Senioritis is a pain...I kind of wish it held off for a couple more months!  But only four months left!!

February 5, 2012

If you follow Kelley's blog (and you should), you'll probably see this picture again haha :)  So last night Kelley finished one of my yoga socks!!!  This is what it looks like!  A long time ago, I found a pattern for it in Hobby Lobby or something and was obsessed with them but Kelley thought they were hideous and told me that I could probably make them myself!  Then, after a long time, I think I finally threw out the pattern because my dreams of having yoga socks were ruined by the fact that Kelley wouldn't make them :(  Then, sometime over Christmas break, Kelley asked for the pattern because she wanted to make them for my birthday but didn't know how to find the pattern in my room without asking hahaha so I knew they were coming :)  Anyway, she finished the first one last night!  Yay!  And in the background of this picture, you can see my beautiful new yoga mat!!  But you can't see the picture on it....
Today we had team pictures for tumbling!  They took about a half hour and it was pretty much just us standing around for 29.5 minutes and then smiling for .5 minute.  And then I went home and Kyle made lunch which was really good and healthy haha :)  Then I worked on my econ study guide which I think was the fastest study guide I have ever completed so far!!  Yay for being productive!  At one point in the middle of doing the study guide, Kelley and I went to Walmart for some things.  I got cute thank you cards and a mechanical pencil because I seriously have a problem with pencils that don't have a very fine point!  I'm always sharpening my pencil, which is a problem, and I'm surprised I waited this long to get a mechanical pencil.  When we got home, Kyle was already on his way back to Chicago.  I did more homework and then it was time for Kelley to leave.  I stayed home because I have too much homework...boo :(  So that's all that happened today!!!  I already miss my sibs :(

February 4, 2012

Today was a super busy day!  Last night, Mom told me that her, Kelley, and I were going somewhere secret today when Kelley came home and that I needed to be ready to leave by 10:30 so, naturally, I woke up at 7:30...boo.  But I pretty much laid around until 9:45 so it's all good haha :)  Kelley came home at 11 today and then we ate some type of lunch and headed out to our secret destination!  We ended up going to Katheryn's Bridal to look for prom dresses!!!!!  Mom said she wanted to take advantage of Kelley being home to do this haha and I found one!!!  Woot woot! It was the first dress I tried on and the other three made me either look 1. like a middle aged woman on a Caribbean cruise or 2. a tablecloth.  Here is the dressy that was chosen :) :

It is a mermaid dress...yay!  I'm super in love with it because I really wanted a colorful dress this year and because it's awesome.  I also decided I'm probably going to wear my yellow converse with them since my arch-happy feet don't fit in heels and I'd rather have comfortable shoes that I love than miserable shoes that I'll wear for two minutes and never again!  I also picked out a hairstyle today so I'm pretty much set haha :)  As you can see, Jersey was super jealous that she wasn't the center of the photo shoot so Kelley was kind enough to take this adorable picture of her :) :

Awwwwwwww :)  After this, Kyle came home and we set out for dinner!  We went to Mimi's Cafe which was a cute place that apparently liked to use French words I didn't understand in the menu.  I got the Chicken Cordon Bleu since we've always eaten frozen ones and I wanted to see what a real one was like!  It was delicious but I was super full and couldn't finish it all!  The POD today is all of us in the restaurant!  I fell asleep on the way home and then again on the couch once we got home and woke up when Kelley walked upstairs with my present!!  She got my an adorable yoga mat and is knitting me a yoga mat bag and yoga socks hahaha :)  They're all soooo cute :)  Then after that, we (by "we" I mean, my familia) sang "Happy Birthday" and I blew out my candles again! :

Isn't the cake just soo cutee!!!!!  Mom made it, of course :) The baby owlets no longer exist :'( Oh, and don't mind my turtle lips in the last picture.....After cake, we watched Slumdog Millionaire and now I'm writing this!
So awkward moment of the day time (this should be a new thing here) :  Today at the bridal store, the lady who checked us out was talking to Kelley when we were leaving and she was like "have a nice weekend home" and I, thinking she was talking to all of us, brilliantly decided to respond, "Thanks, you too!!!" after which Kelley said "thanks" and I realized she 1. wasn't talking to me and 2. was not going anywhere after this weekend... I felt like a complete idiot.  Gah.
Well that's all I guess!  Team  pictures tomorrow!
