Today, apparently, called for climbing on counter tops in lit :) We had a sub today which was sad because I love Mrs. Van and she won't be here tomorrow either :( The sub was really nice and all but for some unknown reason, she had two bags PACKED with those pop top things from pop cans....? We were trying to figure out what the purpose of them were and these are the reasons we came up with:
1. She was collecting them to turn in later for money
2. She was some sort of pop addict
2. She was some sort of pop addict
3. She was superstitious and believed they were good luck
We had a problem with the first option because we couldn't figure out why she would bother bringing them to school but number 2 seemed reasonable since she also had a cup of pop on her desk while we were talking about it! Anyway, we are currently participating in a fundraiser war thing with other first period classes!! It's to raise money for leukemia by bringing in pennies for your box and bringing in silver coins for other peoples' boxes as sabotage! The winning class gets a free Olive Garden meal as if saving children's lives wasn't incentive enough :) We decided during class today to hide our box in plain sight in a place where nobody would bother to look but yet we couldn't get in trouble for "hiding" it because it's clearly out in the open. The winning location was the top of the cabinets haha :) So Humberto volunteered to put it there. When the sub noticed she was all, "what are you doing" and he was all, "just going down there" and then she was all, "oh, okay". hahaha Then at some point, Tyler decided to help point out a good place for the box to nuzzle into its home. In this picture you can see the nice painting Collin made freshman year for a To Kill A Mockingbird project, and you can see Meghan looking beautiful :)! My favorite hiding box idea was Katie's which was to put tissues sticking out of the coin slot hole so people would think it was a tissue box hahaha :)
On a totally unrelated note, I came home to this today! :
Yay! 1000 pageviews!!! I was waiting for it to hit 1000 but I didn't think I would actually get to see it when it happened hahaha :) Thank you to everybody who's interested in my not-so-interesting life haha <3

We just did the same penny war and negative money thing! My class came in second place. The winner of our thing got a Little Caesar's pizza party (gross).
ReplyDeleteMy night class teacher has gone on several rants about pizza parties and other food rewards for bringing in donations for stuff. It really bothers her!! Your post reminded me. :)
Marvelous Multiagers!
Hahahaha, yeah, Olive Garden is slightly better :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's bad to give students reasons to bring in money; like one of our rules is that it's discouraged to give out extra credit for it but the more money they bring in, whatever the reason, the more goes to helping people and that's what matters in the end :)
